This Privacy Policy explains how Avestix and its affiliated companies (together, "Avestix," "we," or "us") collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with Avestix Frontier and the website and services through which it is offered (the "Site"). This policy describes how we handle information when you use the Site or apply for membership. Analytics cookies are the exception: we set them only if you accept them in the cookie banner (see Cookies and Analytics below).
Avestix uses the data you provide in a manner consistent with this Policy. If you provide data for a particular reason, we use it in connection with that reason. For example, if you contact us by email we use your details to respond; if you apply for membership, we use your information to evaluate and administer your application and to provide you with access to member services and to monitor your use of those services.
We and our affiliated companies may also use information collected through the Site to improve its content and functionality, to better understand our members, and to improve our services. We may use this information to communicate with you about our services or about offerings we believe will be of interest to you.
Avestix does not and will not sell any of your Personally Identifiable Information to any third party for purposes of advertising, soliciting, or telemarketing.
If at any time you no longer wish to receive marketing communications, or you wish to have your name removed from our mailing lists, please contact us at events@avestix.com. Please note that, as a member or applicant, we will still send administrative communications that are reasonably necessary.
If Avestix intends to use any data in a manner not consistent with this Policy, you will be informed prior to or at the time the data is collected.
The Site may contain or be linked to third-party websites that we do not control. Avestix is not responsible for the availability, content, advertising, products, or materials of such external sites, and does not adopt or endorse them. Your use of any third-party site is at your own risk.
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages visitors find useful. It runs only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, the Site does not load Google Analytics and sets no analytics cookies.
If you accept, Google Analytics records:
Before a page address goes to Google, we remove everything after the "?" except a short list of campaign tags (such as utm_source) and a checkout-status flag. A link that brought you here from another site is reduced to that site's address.
Accepting sets two Google cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by our stream ID, both on avestixfrontier.com. Your choice is saved in an entry in your browser's local storage, and we ask again after 12 months. If you accept, we also keep a short note of what you started to check out, so a completed payment can be matched to it. Each completed payment also leaves a marker so it is counted only once. Markers are deleted after 90 days. Google keeps the data for 14 months. We have not turned on Google's advertising features.
Google acts as our service provider for this data and may process it in the United States or other countries where it operates. Read Google's Privacy Policy. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Your choice lives only in your browser. Avestix keeps no record of it on a server, so we cannot look it up or change it for you. We send Google no name, email or user ID. A completed payment is recorded under a one-way code made from its Stripe checkout reference, so Avestix can match a payment to its analytics record.
To change your mind, use the button below or "Cookie settings" in the footer. Choosing Decline after accepting stops collection, deletes the Google cookies from your browser, and removes the saved checkout items and payment markers. Data Google already holds stays until its 14 months are up. Clearing this site's data in your browser also removes your choice, and we will ask again.
Some things load whatever you choose. Google Fonts supplies our typefaces, and the Luma booking widget on the workshop page loads from Luma. Both providers can see your IP address when your browser requests them.
Our payment pages also keep short notes in your browser tab, whatever you choose about cookies. When you return from Stripe to the sponsorship or Rhine booking page, the tab keeps your checkout reference, so reloading the page shows your confirmation again. If any of our payment pages can't confirm a payment yet, it notes that too and holds back its payment buttons, so you don't pay twice by mistake. These notes are not used for analytics and are deleted when you close the tab.
